Today we cover the Hindi words for lid, pig, kid, fig, pin, nib, top, pot, rod, dog, box, fox, mug, cup, gun, tub, nut, jug.

Unfortunately, I am not able to type the words in Hindi today since we are going on a family trip.  But I hope to update this post when I get back.  If you have the Navneet Kid’s Primer, you can follow along on page 14 and 15.  If you want a copy, you can find out more at http://www.ispeakhindi.com/donation/

Thank you very much for visiting the ISpeakHindi site. We hope that we can help you learn Hindi. I have been trying to learn Hindi for a long time, but even though I am 33 years, I think it is still possible. So, at 13 you have a head start on me :-)

Hindi is written just like it sounds. And there are a lot more sounds in Hindi than in English. I believe that while you do not want to learn to read/write Hindi but rather just to speak it, I believe it would be easier to say Hindi correctly if you know the letters. For example there are many sounds in Hindi that I would use “ta” or “tha” to represent but sound different from each other.

However, I believe there are a lot of people that are looking for a few Hindi phrases to say that do not want to learn to read/write. We are currently working on a “basic phrases” course. We hope to have it available on the site towards the end of August or in September. I hope you will find that helpful.

    Nathan
