Today we practice the phrases and questions we learned earlier in the week. Before listening to this episode, you should listen to: Hello…How are you? (conversation 1). See if you can recognize all of my lines.
I give my friend in Dallas, Abishek, a call on the phone. There is some background noise. But this is a chance for you to practice understanding the Hindi words under different listening conditions.
Nathan: नमस्ते (?)
Abhishek: नमस्ते (namaste) – Hello

A: मैं अच्छा हूँ। (mein achchha huun) – I am good.

I have had a number of readers ask for the pronunciations and meanings of the questions. I have purposely left these off to encourage you to learn them. You can refer back to the first lesson to hear them Hello…How are you? (conversation 1). Also, I have created a wiki page to keep track of all the materials around this session. You can see them here: http://www.ispeakhindi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Conversation_1
Another reader suggested that we create some assignments around the lesson. Let me give you 10 questions. You try to answer these, and then we will cover the answers in the next session.

Download an entire month's worth of lessons. We have all the lessons from May 2009 through October 2011 in zip files containing the audio files and a PDF with all the lessons. You can download these in the paid subscriber area.
If you are not already a paid subscriber, you should consider becoming one. It is only $12 every 3 months. That's only $4/month. Learning Hindi is worth much more than $4/month, so this is a great deal.
