Meena’s Poem – Part 2

सात समुद्र पार करके

आएगी हमारी बिटिया रानी।

उसे देखकर हम चकाचौंध हो जाएँगे।

वही चेहरा, मुसकान और प्यार

देखकर हम प्रफुलित हो जाएँगे।

मिलकर गले साल की प्यास बुझाएँगे।

 

1) सात समुद्र पार करके

saat samudr paar karke

Having crossed the seven seas

सात (saat) – seven

समुद्र (samudr) – seas

पार करके (paar karke) – having crossed

 

2) आएगी हमारी बिटिया रानी।

aaegii hamaarii biTiyaa raanii

Our queen daughter will come

आएगी aaegii – will come (feminine subject)

हमारी hamaarii – ours (agrees with a feminine noun)

बिटिया biTiyaa – daughter (same as बेटी)

रानी raanii – queen

 

3) उसे देखकर हम चकाचौंध हो जाएँगे।

We will get surprised after seeing her.

उसे use – her

देखकर dakhkar – seeing (look at)

हम ham – we

चकाचौंध हो जाएँगे chakaachoundh ho jaenge – to get surprised

 

 

 

4) वही चेहरा, मुसकान और प्यार

same smiling and loving face

 

वही vahii – same

चेहरा chehraa – face

मुसकान muskaan – smile

और aur – and

प्यार pyaar – love

5) देखकर हम प्रफुलित हो जाएँगे।

Seeing [her], we get over joyed.

प्रफुलित हो जाएँगे get over joyed. 

 

6) मिलकर गले साल की प्यास बुझाएँगे।

by embracing [her] we will quench our thirst of years.

मिलकर गले milkar gale – embracing

साल की saal kii – of years

प्यास बुझाएँगे pyaas bujhaenge – will quench thirst

 

 

Having crossed the seven seas

Our queen daughter will come

We will get surprised after seeing her.

same smiling and loving face

Seeing [her], we get over joyed.

by embracing [her] we will quench our thirst of years.
