“I have a table with 4 chairs.”  Can you say that in Hindi?  After today’s lesson you should be able to say this and many other things related to household articles.

In this lesson, we shall learn the use of some household articles in sentence making.

Sit on the chair.
कुर्सी पर बैठो
Kursi par baito.

Bring the chair.
कुर्सी लाओ
Kursi laao

The book is on the table.
पुस्तक मेज पर है
Putak mez par hai

We had a cozy table for two.
हमारे पास दो के लिए एक आरामदायक मेज़ था
Hamare pas do ke liye ek aaramdayak mez tha

I started looking in the cupboard.
मैं अलमारी में तलाश शुरू कर दी
Main almari main talash shuru kar di

This room is the size of a Cupboard? Yeah, the size of a closet.
क्या यह कमरा एक अलमारी के आकर का है? हा,एक अलमारी के आकर का
Kya yeh kamara ek almari ke aakar ka hai? ha,ek almari ke aakar ka

We gave her a bookshelf.
हमने उसे एक किताब की अलमारी दी
Humne use ek kitab ki almari di

We have an amazing bookshelf.
हुमारे पास एक अद्बूत किताबों की अलमारी है
Humare pas ek adbut kitabon ki almari hai

He ran a comb through his hair.
उसने अपने बालों पर कंघी चलाया
Usne apne baloon par kanghi chalaya

She took a comb from her purse
उसने अपने पर्स से एक कंघी लिया
Usne apne purse se ek kanghi liya

I laid the phone on the mat.
मैं चटाई पर फोन रखी
Main chatai par phone rakhi

He’d been asleep on the mat.
वह चटाई पर सो रहा था
Vah chatai par so raha tha

It is a nice carpet.
यह एक अच्छा कालीन है
Yah ek achcha kaleen hai

There were smudges of dirt on the carpet.
कालीन पर गंदगी के धब्बे थे
Kaleen par gandagi ke dhabbe the

Jake went to bed.
जेक बिस्तर के पास गया
Jake bistar ke pas gaya

I was just lying in bed.
मैं अभी बिस्तर में पड़ा हुआ था.
Main abhi bistar par pada hua tha

There was a folded cot.
वहाँ एक लपेटा खाट था
Vahan ek lapeta khaat tha

Mary got up from her chair and reached under the cot.
मरियम कुर्सी से उठी और पलंग के नीचे पहुँची
mariyam kursi se uthi aur palang ke neche pahunchi

He sat on the sofa.
वह पलंग पर बैठ गया
Vah palang par bait gaya

Aurelia rose from the sofa.
ऑयरीलीया पलंग से उठी
Aurelia palang se uthi

It was a big bed-sheet.
यह एक बड़ा चादर है
Yah ek bada chadar hai

She washed the bed-sheet.
उसने चादर धोया
Usne chadar dhoya

Michael lifted his head from the pillow.
माइकल तकिये से अपना सिर उठाया
Michael takiye se apna sar uthaya

I want my pillow back.
मुझे अपना तकिया वापस चाहिए
Mujhe apna takiya vaapas chahiye
