Remember the vowels:

अ आ इ ई उ ऊ ऋ ए ऐ ओ औ अं

Look at च mixes with each of these vowels.

 

च् + अ  = च   example:  चखना to taste

च्+ आ = चा  चाबी (f) key 

[private_paid subscriber]     [/private_paid subscriber]

 

च्+ इ = चि    चित्र (m) picture

[private_paid subscriber]     [/private_paid subscriber]

 

च् + ई = ची    चीनी (f) sugar  (also means Chinese)

च् + उ = चु     चुप quiet, silent

[private_paid subscriber]     [/private_paid subscriber]

 

च् + ऊ =  चू    चूहा (m) mouse

च् + ऋ  = चृ     

[private_paid subscriber]     [/private_paid subscriber]

 

च् + ए =  चे   चेहरा (m) face

[private_paid subscriber]     [/private_paid subscriber]

 

च् + ऐ = चै   चैन – rest

[private_paid subscriber]     [/private_paid subscriber]

 

च् + ओ = चो  चोर (m) thief

[private_paid subscriber]     [/private_paid subscriber]

 

च् + औ = चौ   चौदह fourteen (14)

[private_paid subscriber]     [/private_paid subscriber]

 

च् + अं = चं            चंद a few

[private_paid subscriber]     [/private_paid subscriber]
