The English film 2012 starts with a scene in India.  There are a few phrases spoken in Hindi, which will be a fun way to start to day’s lesson.  Here are some pictures to help you place the audio recording in context of the movie.

कम – less

बर्फ़  – ice

मसाला – spice

दूध – milk

पानी –  water

चीनी – sugar

गर्म – hot/warm

ठंडा – cold

I need more ice.

मुझे और बर्फ़ चाहिए।

I need more water.

मुझे और पानी चाहिए।

I need more sugar.

मुझे ज़्यादा चीनी चाहिए।

I need this hotter.

मुझे और गर्म चाहिए।

I need this colder.

मुझे ज़्यादा ठंडा चाहिए।

I need less ice.

मुझे कम बर्फ़ चाहिए।

I need less spices.

मुझे कम मसाले चाहिए।

I need less milk.

मुझे कम दूध चाहिए।

I need less water.

मुझे कम पानी चाहिए।

I need less sugar.

मुझे कम चीनी चाहिए।

I need it less warm.

मुझे कम गर्म चाहिए।

I need it less cold.

दीवार (dii-vaar) – wall
