Machhlee Jal Kee Ranee Hai
Fish is the Queen of Water
मछली जल की रानी है |
जीवन उसका पानी है |
हाथ लगाओगे , डर जाएगी |
बाहर निकालोगे , मर जाएगी |
PLEASE NOTE: मत्स्य (matsay) also means fish
ENGLISH TRANSLITERATION:
Machhlee jal ki ranee hai.
Jeevan uska paanee hai.
Haath lagaogay, dar jayegee.
Baahar nikaalogay, mar jayegee.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
The queen of the water is fish.
Water is her life.
If you touch her with hand ,she will get frightened.
If you take her out of the water, she will die.
English = Hindi words and some sentences
Queen: Ranee: Ranee Raja ki patni hai.
Rani(queen) is wife(Patnee) of the King (raja)
Hand = हाथ ( Haath ) : हाथ धोकर खाना खाओ | (Haath dhow kar khaana khao )
: Eat the food after washing hand
-Life: -जीवन (Jeevan): It is also called जान(jaan) or प्राण(praan) . sentence:
जीवन मूल्यवान है | (Jeevan mulyavaan hai.) = The life is valuable.
- To touch : छूना (Chhoona ) sentence:
मुझे मत छूओ | ( Mujhey mut chhooow) : = Don’t touch me.
-To fear or get frightened or to get scared =डरना ( Darna ) : sentence:
मुझसे मत डरो | (Mujhse mut daro . ) = Don’t get scared of me.
-water- पानी (Paanee ) or जल (Ja)l : Sentence:
पानी दूषित है | (Paanee dooshit hai .) = The water is polluted.
मरना ( Marna) die : sentence:
तुम क्यों मरना चाहते हो ? (Tum kyon marna chahte ho?) =Why do you want to die?
But = लेकिन (lekin)
kill = Maarna = मारना ( kill) sentence: तुम मुझे क्यों मारना चाहते हो |
(Tum mujhe kyon maarna chahte ho? ) Why do you want to kill me?
SECOND POEM:
आलू बोला (aaloo Bola):Potato Said
आलू बोला मुझको खा लो |
मैं तुमको मोटा कर दूंगा |
पालक बोली मुझको खा लो |
मैं तुमको ताकत दे दूँगी |
गाजर, भिन्डी, बैंगन बोले | please note:फूलगोभी(phoolgobhee) =cauliflower
बंदगोभी (bandgobhee) = cabbage
गोभी, मटर, टमाटर बोले |
अगर हमें भी खाओगे |
शीघ्र बड़े हो जाओगे |
ENGLISH TRANSLITERATION:
Aaloo Bola mujhko kha lo
Mein tumko mota kar doonga.
Paalak bolee mujhko kha lo.
Mein tumko taakat de duungee.
Gaajar , bhindee , baingan bolay.
Gobhee , matar, tamaatar bolay
Agar humein bhee khaogay
sheeghra baday ho jaoogay
English translation:
Potato said , “Eat me”
I will make you fat.”
Spinach said, “Eat me”
I will give you more strength.”
Carrot, Lady Fingers(okra) and Brinjal said
Cabbage, Peas and Tomato said,
“If you eat all of us also
You will grow fast.”

Bola(Masculine said) with regard to Potato(Aaloo)
Bolee(Feminine- said)- with regard to Paalak(Spinach a leafy vegetable)
अगर ( Agar) = If sentence: अगर तुम चलो तो मैं भी चलूँगा |
( Agar tum chalo to main bhee chalooga. ) =If you walk, then I will also walk.
भी (bhee) = also sentence: . तुम भी कृपया मेरे साथ चलो |
( Tum bhee kripya mere saath aao. )You also please come with me.
