LESSON 39: One word that replaces many
कई शब्दों के जगह (बदले)में एक हिंदी शब्द
(Kai shabdon ke jagah (badle) mein ek Hindi shabd.)
It means one word in place of (in lieu of) several words in Hindi.
Please note that several Hindi words in a sentence which can be substituted with one Hindi word.
Sl. देवनागरी (Devanagari) Transliteration Translation in English
- जो पढ़ा -लिखा न हो – अनपढ़
(jo padha-liha na ho = Anpadh)
The person who is not a literate. – illiterate - जो कभी न मरे – अमर
(jo kabhi n mare = amar)
Who will never die – immortal - दूर की सोचने वाला – दूरदर्शी
(door ki shochney waala = doordarshi)
who thinks far ahead- farsightedness. - जिसका कोई संतान न हो – निसंतान
(jiska koi santaan na hao = nisantaan)
Who does not have a child – childless - जिसमे धैर्य न हो – अधीर
(jismey dhairya nahin ho = adheer)
Who does not have perseverance (known as धीरज dheeraj) or patience - जिसके समान दूसरा न हो – अनुपम
(jiskey samaan doosra na ho. = anupam)
There is no one to match him – matchless or incomparable - जिस पर विश्वास न किया जा सके – अविश्वनीय
(jis par vishwaas na kiya jaa sakey = avishwasneeya)
Who can not be trusted or relied upon – unfaithful. - अपने देश से दुसरे देश में सामान जाना – निर्यात
(apney desh se doosrey desh mein saamaan jaana = niryaat)
When articles/items are dispatched from own country to other country- export. - दुसरे देश से अपने देश में सामान आना – आयात
(doosrey desh se apney desh me saamaan aana = aayaat)
When articles/items comes or are received from another country to own country. – Import - अपनी हत्या स्वयं करना – आत्महत्या
(apni hatya swayang karna – aatmahatya)
To kill self on his/her own – suicide - जिस भूमि पर कुछ न उग सके – ऊसर
(jis bhoomi par kuch na oog sakey. = oosar)
The land in which nothing can be produced – barren also known as बंजर banjar - शीघ्र नष्ट होने वाला – क्षणभंगुर
(sheeghra nasht honay waala – kshanbhangur)
which will destroy soon – perishable (instantaneously. Nasht also means vinaash in Hindi) - जो उच्च कुल में उत्पन्न हुआ हो – कुलीन
(jo ucch kul mein utpann(Paida) hua ho.= kuleen)
Who has taken birth in aristocrat family – aristocratic - जो सब जगह बदनाम हो कुख्यात
(jo sab jahah badnaam ho. = kukhyaat)
Who has got bad names everywhere – notorious - जनता में प्रचलित सुनी -सुनाई बात – किंवदंती
(janata mein prachlit suni-sunai baat – kivandanti)
The matter/talk popular among people, heard of – hearsay - जिसमे सहन शक्ति हो – सहिष्णु
(jismey sahan kee shakti ho – sahishnu)
Who has power/stamina to bear- bearable. - जिसमे रस न हो – नीरस
(jismein ras na ho – neeras)
Which does not have juice- juice-less - जो कम बोलता हो –मितभाषी
(jo kam bolta ho – mitbhaashi)
who talks less – introvert - जिसकी वाणी मधुर हो – मृदुभाषी
(jiski vaani madhur ho – mridhubhaashi)
Who speaks sweet - जिसका पति मर गया हो विधवा
(jiska pati mar gaya ho –vidhwa)
Whose husband is dead: widow - जिसकी पत्नी मर गयी हो विधुर
(jiski patnee mar gayee ho – vidhur)
whose wife is dead-widower - पति-पत्नी का जोड़ा – दम्पति
(pati-Patnee ka joda – dampati)
Pair of husband and wife – couple - भलाई चाहने वाला – हितैषी
(bhalaai chahney waala – hitaishee)
Who wants welfare of others - दिल से होने वाला – हार्दिक
(dil se honay waala – hardik)
which is from heart =hearty - जो सब जगह व्याप्त हो –सर्वव्यापक
(jo sam jagah byaapt ho- sarvabyaapak)
Who is available omnipresent - जो सबसे शक्तिशाली है –सर्वशक्तिमान
(jo sabsay shaktishaali hai- sarvshaktimaan)
Who is most powerful - जिसमे दया न हो – निर्दयी
(jismein daya n hao = nirdayee)
Who does not have kindness -cruel - जो देखने योग्य हो – दर्शनीय
(jo daikhnay yogya hai – darshneeya)
Which is worth seeing - जो अधिक बोलता हो – वाचाल
(jo adheek bota ho = vaachaal)
Who speaks too much – talkative - जो दिखाई न दे – अदृश्य
(jo dikhaee na dey – adrishya)
which can not be seen- Invisible. - दूसरों की बातों में दखल देना – हस्तक्षेप
(doosron kee baton mein dakhal dena = hastkshep)
Who interferes in others matter. - जानने की इच्छा रखने वाला – जिज्ञासु
(jaananey kee icchha rakhney wala. jigyasu)
Who wishes to know – thirst for knowledge - सप्ताह में एक बार होने वाला – साप्ताहिक
(saptaah mein ek baar honay wala – saaptaahik)
Which occurs once in a week – weekly - महीने में एक बार होने वाला – मासिक
(mahinay mein ek baar honay waala – masik)
Which occurs once in a month – monthly - दिन में एक बार होने वाला- दैनिक
(din mein ek baar honay wala – dainik)
Which occurs daily - वर्ष में एक बार होने वाला – वार्षिक
(varsh mein ek baar honay waala – vaarshik)
Which occurs once in a year – annually - तीन महीने में एक बार होने वाला – त्रैमासिक
(teen mahiney mein ek baar honay waala – traiymaasik)
Which occurs once in three months. - छै महीने में एक बार होने वाला – छैमासिक
(chhaiy mahineey mein ek baar honay waala = chhaiymaasik)
Which occurs once in six months - जो मांस खाता हो – मांसाहारी
(maans khaanay wala – maansaahaaree)
Who eats meat non-vegetarian - जो साग- सब्जी खाता हो – शाकाहारी
(jo saag-sabjee khaata ho – shaakaahaaree)
Who eats green vegetabales – vegetarian - हमेशा सत्य बोलने वाला – सत्यवादी
(hamesha satya bolnay waala. – satyawaadi)
Who speaks always truth. - जिसके आने की तिथि न हो – अतिथि
(jiskey aanay kee tithee na ho – atithee)
The person coming does not have a fixed date to come : Guest. - जिसे जीता न जा सके – अजेय
(jisey jeeta na jaa sakay- ajaiy )
Who cannot be defeated-invincible (unconquerable)
