ऐ मेरे वतन के लोगों ,तुम खूब लगा लो नारा,
(Ey merey vatan ke logon, tum khoob lagaa lo naara,)
Hey, people of my homeland, you have slogans in plenty
यह शुभ दिन हैं हम सबका ,लहरा लो तिरंगा प्यारा ,
(yah shubh din hai ham sabka, laharaa lo tiranga pyaara,)
It is an auspicious day for all of us, hoist tricolor sweet flag,
पर मत भूलो सीमा पर, वीरों ने हैं प्राण गवाएं ,
(Par mat bhulo seema par, veeron ney hain praan gavaayen, )
Do not forget that at the border, the heroes have lost lives,
कुछ याद उन्हें भी कर लो , जो लौट के घर न आये ,
(Kuchh yaad unhein bhee kar lo, jo laut ke ghar na aaye.)
Remember those who did not return home ,
ऐ मेरे वतन के लोगों ,जरा आँख में भर लो पानी
(Ey mere vatan ke logon, jara aankh mein bhar lo panee,)
Hey, people of my homeland, just fill water in the eye(means cry)
जो शहीद हुए हैं उनकी , जरा याद करो कुर्बानी ,
(Jo shahee hooay hain unkee, jar yaad karo kurbaanee )
Who have been killed(martyr ), just remember the sacrifice,
तुम भूल न जाओ उनको , इसलिये सुनो ये कहानी ,
(Tum bhool na jaao unko, isliye suno ye kahaanee,)

जो शहीद हुए हैं उनकी , जरा याद करो कुर्बानी ,

जब तक थी सांस लडे वो , फिर अपनी लाश बिछा दी ,
(Jab tak thee saans ladey vo, fir apee laash bichaa dee,
They fought until had breath, then their dead-body were laid out,
जमीन पे धर कर अपना माथा, सो गए अमर बलिदानी ,
(Jameen pey dhar kar apnaa maatha, so gaye amar balidaanee,)
Keeping their head on the land(floor),immortal sacrifice have slept(died),
जो शहीद हुए हैं उनकी , जरा याद करो कुर्बानी ,
(Jo shahee hooay hain unkee, jar yaad karo kurbaanee )
Who have been killed(martyr ), just remember the sacrifice,
जब देश में थी दीवाली, वो खेल रहे थे होली ,
(Jab desh mein thee deewalee, vo khel rahe they holee.)
Where Diwali was there in the country , they were playing Holi
जम हम बैठे थे घरों में, वे झेल रहे थे गोली ,
(Jab ham baithey they gharon mein, vey jhail rahe theey golee.)
When we were sitting at home, , they were bearing the bullets,l
थे धन्य जवान वो , थी धन्य वो उनकी जवानी ,
(They dhanya jawaan vo, thee dhanya vo unke jawaanee.)
Those were blessed young, blessed were their youth,
