({Suresh 303} Word division विच्छेद ( Vichhed ) – division
DEFINITION:संधि विच्छेद (Sandhi Vicched ) Words Division); The words can be divided into two or more words by words division. Besides, it tells the meaning of all separate words . It also explains how some of the words combine to form a totally unique word.
जब दो ध्वनियाँ निकट होने पर आपस में मिल जाती हैं एवं एक नया रूप धारण कर लेती हैं, तो वहां दो ध्वनियों की संधि होती है |
(Jab do dhwaniyan nikat honey par aapas mein mil jaatee hain evam ek naya roop dhaaran kar letee hain, to vahan do dhwaniyon kee sandhi hotee hai )
Example; हिमालय (Himalaya) = हिम (Ice/snow) + आलय (House)
देहांत (Death) = देह (Body) + अंत (End) – Death
धर्मात्मा (Saint) = धर्म (Religion) + आत्मा (Soul)
देवालय (God’s House) = देव (God) + आलय (House) -temple- mandir
सूर्योदय (Sun’s Rising) = सूर्य (Sun) + उदय (Rising) – surnrise
कार्यालय (kaaryaalay) =कार्य (work) + आलय (House) = office
सचिवालय (Secretariat) = सचिव (Secretary) + आलय (House)
परोपकार (Charity)= पर (other/On) + उपकार (Help) – helping others
प्रत्येक (Everyone) = प्रति (Every) + एक (One)
चिकित्सालय (Hospital) = चिकित्सा (Medication) + आलय (House)
अत्याचार (Oppression) = अति (Over) + आचार (Behaviour/Conduct)
सर्वौत्तम (Best of all) = सर्व (All) + उत्तम (Best)
अत्यंत (Extremely) = अति (Over) + अंत (End)
सुलेख (Good Handwriting) = सु (Good) + लेख (Lekh)
रेखांकित (Underlined) = रेखा (Line) + अंकित (Marked)
सदैव (Always) = सदा (Ever) + एव (And)
छात्रावास (Students Hostel) = छात्र (Student) + आवास (House)
स्वागत (Welcome) = सु (Good) + आगत (incoming)
