इस धरती को महकाएं , (Is dhartee ko mahkaayein ) – poem
बगिया ( garden) के फूलों को देखो, कैसे खुश खुश रहते हैं ,
(Bagiya ke foolon ko dekho. kiasey khush khush rahtey hain,)
Look at the flowers of the garden, how happily live,
आंधी( storm) हो, पानी ( rain) हो चाहे , सबको हस हस सहते हैं,
(Aaandhee ho, paanee ho chaahey, sabko hans hans sahtey hain, )
Be it storm, rain, withstand (bear) all laughingly.
सूरज ( sun) के किरणों( rays) को देखो, रोज ( daily) धरती (earth) पर आती हैं,
(Sooraj. ke loranon ko dekho, roaj dharatee par aatee hain, )
Look at the rays of the sun, come to the earth daily.
अन्धकार ( darkness) को दूर भगाकर ,सारा जग ( world) चमकाती हैं,
(Andhkaar ko door bhagaakar, saara jag chamkaatee hain,)
Drives away the darkness, make the whole world shine.
दीपक ( lamp) को देखो ( see) कैसे ( how) यह, हरदम ( always) जलता ( burns) रहता है,
(Deepak ko dekho kaise yah, hardam jaltaa rahtaa hai.)
Look at the lamp , how it continues to burn all the time.
अपना अंतर जला जलाकर,रोशन (illuminates) जग को करता है ,
(Apnaa antar jala jalaakar, roshan jag ko karta hai,
Burning himself inside, illuminates the world,
आओ, हम भी इंसान ( human being ) बनकर, जग में अपना नाम ( name) कमायें ( earn) ,
(Aao, ham bhee insaan bankar, jag mein apnee naam kamaayein,)
Come, we as a human being, also earn our name in the world.
अच्छे सच्चे ( honest) काम करें और इस धरती को महकाएं ,
(Acchhey sachhey kaam karein aur is dhartee ko mahkaayein,)
Do good honest work and give fragrance to the earth.
