अलबेलों ( dandy) का मस्तानों ( overjoyed persons ) का ,
(Ye desh hai veer jawaanon kaa ,
alabelon kaa mastaanon kaa , )
This country is of brave soldiers, unique and full of life
(being happy and having fun)
इस देश का यारों (pals) क्या कहना ,
ये देश है दुनिया (world's) का गहना(jewel) , (Is desh kaa yaaron kyaa kahanaa ,
ye desh hai duniyaa kaa gahanaa ,)
What to say of the guys of this country(praiseworthy) ,
this country is the jewel of the world,
यहाँ चौड़ी ( broad) छाती ( chest) वीरों( brave) की ,
यहाँ भोली (naive) शक्लें( faces) हीरों( Juliet/Diamonds) की (Yahaan chaudee chhaatee veeron kee ,
yahaan bholee shaklein heeron kee ,)
The muscular brave men (chest of the braves are broad )
are here ,naive/innocent faces of women.
यहाँ गाते(sing) हैं रांझे (romeos) मस्ती में , मचती हैं
धूमें बस्ती ( colony) में , (Yahaan gaatey hain raanjhey mastee mein, machatee hain
dhoomein bastee mein,)
The romeos sing here in having fun, merry making takes
place(life and liberty) in the colony/settlements.
पेड़ों ( tree) पे बहारें झूलों ( swings) की , राहों में
कतारें (rows) फूलों ( flowers) की , (Pedon pey bahaaren jhoolon kee, raahon mein
kataarein phoolon kee, )
Swinging leaves on the tree,rows of flowers in the path,
यहाँ हंसता (laughs) है सावन बालों ( hair) में , खिलती हैं कलियाँ
( buds) गालों (cheeks) में , (Yahaan hansataa hai saavan baalon mein , khilatee hain
kaliyaan gaalon mein,)
The monsoon ( reference to women of India,I believe)
laughs in the hair, the buds are blooming in the cheeks,
कहीं दंगल (wrestling) शोख जवानों के ,
कहीं करतब (feat) तीर कमानों (archery) के ,
(Kaheen dangal shokh javaanon ke ,
kaheein kartab teer kamaanon key ,)
Somewhere wrestling of vivid soldiers,
elsewhere feat of archery,
यहाँ नित नित मेले सजते हैं ,
यहाँ नित ढोल और ताशे बजते हैं , (Yahaan nit nit meley sajatey hain,
yahaan nit dhol aur taashey bajatey hain,)
Daily fairs are arranged here,
daily drums and other instruments are played here,)
दिलबर के लिए दिलदार हैं हम ,
दुश्मन ( enemy) के लिए तलवार ( sword) हैं हम ,
(Dilabar key liye dildaar hain ham, dushman ke liye
talvaar hain ham,)
We are generous(lovers ) to those love us,
we are sword for the enemies,
मैदान में अगर हम डंट जाएँ ,
मुश्किल है की पीछे हट जाएँ , (Maidaan mein agar ham dant jaayein,
mushkil hai kee peechey hat jaayein,}
If we set in the battleground,
it is difficult that we retreat(take back our steps).
