Books on Hindi

One book which is useful if you want to know more about the grammar is 'Outline of Hindi Grammar' by R. S. McGregor. It shows everything in devanagari script from the beginning but also shows the transliterations. It might not appeal to everybody since it is a bit academic. However if you are the kind of person that likes to know reasons behind things you will like this book.
