N: Welcome to ISpeakHindi.com. Today we have a word find to help expand your vocabulary and to give you practice recognizing the Hindi letters. These wordfinds could be a good way to take a break from studying Hindi without taking a break from Hindi. Today we will look at Word Find #12 from our 25 Hindi Word Find booklet. We will be publishing this in August for $9.99 + shipping and handling. But if you pre-order/pre-pay now, you can get it at a discount. It will only be $5.99 + shipping & handling. Also, we will send you a digital copy of the working version now. Now let us get straight into the words.
वह लड़की दीवार के पास उन आदमी का सजनी है।
That girl near the wall is that man's sweetheart.
This has four words from the word find:
लड़की - girl
दीवार - wall
आदमी - man
सजनी - sweetheart
Notice how we used two different words for "that". वह is used for "that" in the direct case. And उन is used for "that" in the oblique case. The oblique case is used when part of a prepositional phrase.
"That girl" is वह लड़की
and
"that man" is वह आदमी
but
"That girl's car" is उन लड़की की गाड़ी
and
"that man's car" is उन आदमी की गाड़ी
A goat lives on land, but a fish lives in water.
